Gluten-Free Recipe: Apple Pecan Pie Balls

The medjool dates give these apple nut bites a caramel taste reminiscent of a pecan pie. Try this real food recipe to satisfy your sweet craving without any processed sugar or flour. Share it with all your gluten-free, paleo, and vegan pals.

With a great combination of nuts that can be altered to any liking, these are high in both fiber and protein, with a super food kick. I love creating recipes that my entire family will enjoy. Apple Pecan Pie Balls passed the kid test with flying colors! Perfectly packable for lunches, parties and picnics.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup pecans
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • ½ cup almonds
  • 12 medjool dates
  • ¾ cup dried apple slices
  • 1 tbs Mila (chia)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt

Directions:

Place nuts in food processor or Vitamix. Pulse until the nuts become meal. Remove date pits. Add dates, apples, Mila, cinnamon and salt to the nut mixture. Pulse until blended well. Scoop out into a bowl and form into small round balls. Keep in the refrigerator. To save time you can press into an 8x8 glass pan and cut into squares.
