This smoothie is an easy and delicious option for breakfast. It's simple to prepare and only takes a few minutes to make, and yet it's packed with nutrition.

Thanks to the hemp seeds, you get Omega 3, 6 and 9, as well as a good source of protein. The avocado gives you a good source of fats. Plus, you get heaps of potassium with the banana; antioxidants from the blueberries; and all the goodness and energizing power from the maca and cacao powders. Maca is also thought to help you to balance hormones and boost fertility.

Could you think of something better to start your day?

A Chocolate-For-Breakfast Smoothie (Oh, Yes!)

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 Tbsp. cacao
  • About 1/4 cup of your favorite milk
  • 1 Tsp. maca powder
  • Blueberries for topping
  • Hemp seeds for topping

Directions

Place everything in your blender (except the toppings) and blend until nice and creamy.

Add more milk to obtain a more liquid texture. Or, if it's too liquid, you can always add a few pieces of banana and/or avocado.

Garnish with the toppings of your choice. Here, I used hemp seeds and blueberries.

Note: you can add a couple of dates or an extra 1/2 banana if you'd like something sweeter.
