Anxiety is associated with aggravated Vata, which can become elevated due to caffeine, stress, disrupted routines, cold weather and dry cold food and drinks. Fortunately, Ayurveda offers several traditional soothing remedies to help you regain balance.
This Hot Spiced Turmeric Milk balances Vata and calms anxiety. Turmeric is astringent, pungent and bitter in taste which helps balance Pitta with a heating quality that helps balance Vata and Kapha doshas along with supporting liver detoxification, benefitting immune function and assisting digestion. Traditionally, turmeric milk gas been used to treat colds and flus due to its antiviral and antibacterial properties and can also soothe a sore throat or cough.
