The Wing's New Workspace Is All About Wellness, And Right Next To mbg HQ
This morning, mindbodygreen welcomed a new wellness hotspot to our Brooklyn neighborhood, the women-only co-working, co-inspiring, co-empowering space: The Wing. After expanding from its original Flatiron location to its second space in Soho, The Wing lands in Brooklyn's wellness mecca. Dumbo has become the defacto destination for the borough's health-focused community. Just blocks from The Wing's new location, and mbg's headquarters, you'll find sustainable eateries (Forager's, Sweetgreen, Westville, Bluestone Lane) and fitness staples like Yoga Vida, Equinox, and Gleason's boxing gym. The Wing's move to the neighborhood brings with it a community of strong, wellness women.
The Wing, with its signature high-design aesthetic (interior designer Chiara DeRege told Vogue she was inspired to balance the millenial pink concrete floors with shades of blue “to reflect the river and open-sky views seen from the space,") is more than just a pretty space. Thoughtful touches throughout the two-story warehouse space encourage members to take a moment for self-care. The cafe's plant-based snacks nourish the body while the rainbow-hued feminist library, curated by The Strand, nourishes the mind. New moms have a lactation room all of their own. And empowering messages emanate from the the conference room, which are wallpapered with the visages of iconic women like Ruth Bader Gingsburg.
The showstopper, however, is the Dumbo Wing's dedicated wellness room, outfitted with a ballet barre, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and MNDFL meditation pillows. Work-life balance? It's possible with these in-office amenities. We're all about the wellness perks, but what excites us most about The Wing's opening is welcoming the diverse community of women who will be our neighbors.
