Ever felt like your energy is just off? Sometimes we all slip into a negative or funky mood for no apparent reason. As a psychic intuitive, I know the power of energy. Changing your energy can change what shows up in your life—and how you react when it does. Try one of these quick and simple actions the next time you need an energy reboot:

1. Take a lavender Epsom salt bath.

When Epsom salt breaks down in water, it becomes magnesium and sulfate. The magnesium is thought to be absorbed by your body while you soak, helping to calm your nervous system—and at the very least the warm water is soothing for your muscles. Adding natural aromatherapy to your bath helps engage your sense of smell, giving your energy body (which is actually much larger than your physical body) something pleasant to focus on. Listen to an interesting podcast, and when you hop out of the tub, you might feel like a brand-new person.

2. Buy yourself fresh flowers.

Flowers are delicate and dainty, but they also carry a big, powerful energy signature. Take your flower appreciation up a notch by picking out a pretty bouquet, putting it in a vase, and carrying it with you when you move from room to room of your house during the day. Keep the blooms out where you will notice them, like next to the television or in the center of the kitchen table. When the petals begin to fall off, scatter them around your home altar or other sacred place to refresh the energy there.

3. Clean up.

Straightening up and cleansing your environment can quickly clear your energy, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed or frustrated. Observe the feelings of calm and satisfaction that come over you once a room is tidy. Our energy body can mimic or mirror the energy around it, so if you are in a cluttered or chaotic space, it could be negatively affecting you, especially if you are sensitive.

4. Think of the unique reasons you should feel grateful.

This is a wonderful way to get rid of funky energy caused by seeing someone's "my life is so amazing" social media post. Instead of comparing and despairing, think of things you are grateful for that are unique to your life—like a trip you took to a far-off place, an interesting project you are working on, or a beloved pet or child that only you get to be mommy or daddy to.

5. Listen to sacred music.

Why can music instantly change your mood? Because it creates such a strong emotional reaction in humans. Put on something that gets you in touch with the eternal nature of life or your soul (my go-to is Loreena McKinnett). You might turn on an internet radio station and have the Universe send you a special song as a sign.

6. Go outside.

If you can stroll through or sit in a bit of nature, you can tune into the trees and rocks to clear your energy. Walking or sitting in a light breeze is a great way to clear your energy as your skin is very connected to your energy body—think of the wind gently cleansing you as it washes across your face.

7. Ask a spirit guide to change your energy.

If you are sad or angry and need to express or process the emotion, do so. But if you are just dealing with a funky mood or an emotional reaction to something minor that seems to linger, ask an angel or spirit guide to change your energy. Close your eyes and feel the loving presence of one of your guardian angels as they clear out the funk. As I touch on in my book, Angel Insights, this amazing technique can work instantly!

Here are two quick rituals you can do to clear your personal energy or the energy of your home:

To clear your energy:

Sit in a comfortable position and put on some soothing background noise, like nature sounds. Imagine a soft pale-pink orb of light starting to form at your heart center. Take some calming deep breaths in and out as you imagine this soft pink orb expanding slowly, getting larger and larger, until your whole body is sitting comfortably inside this pink ball of light. Feel your muscles relax. Meditate there inside this orb of light for a few minutes. Once you're ready, watch it begin to gradually retract until it vanishes back inside your heart center. Get up slowly from your seated position. Notice any sensations you feel or interesting thoughts that pop up about something going on in your life or ways to better protect your own energy.

To clear the energy of a room:

This is a great energetic exercise to do after you give a room a physical cleaning. Light some natural incense that is in a stick or wand form. Take a moment to close your eyes and quiet your mind so you feel centered. Now walk around the room slowly, waving the incense in the air. Notice the energy is different in different parts of the room. Maybe the energy around a desk is heavy as it's where a lot of work is done, but the energy around the couch where you take breaks is much lighter. If there was recently a big fight or celebration in the room, the energy will feel thick. Spend longer clearing the energy around the denser spots of the room. As you clear the energy with your incense, say a mantra out loud or silently that reflects the kind of energy you want in this room. "Peace and love live here," or "Everyone who enters this room is protected and blessed." Once you are done, grab a small bell or singing bowl and go around to each corner of the room, as well as the entryway, striking the bowl or ringing the bell. Notice how much lighter the room feels!
