Moving on and letting go often has nothing to do with weakness, but everything to do with strength. When you finally realize your worth, you'll walk away from your past, people, habits and choices that don't serve you.
It's your self-beliefs and thoughts that determine what and who you attract into your life. If your relationships fill your heart with pain and you are being mistreated and disrespected, it’s time to tap into what’s going on within. When you do the internal work and reconnect with your true self, your self-worth will begin to rebuild and you'll be reminded that you deserve love and kindness.
Relationships shouldn't make you feel broken, beaten, and exhausted. If they do, you’re going to have no energy, no self-esteem, no will to be all you can be, and this isn't what relationships are about. If this resonates with you, maybe it’s time to wave the white flag and move on to avoid further damage.
Not all relationships are built to last, no matter how badly you wish they would. Would you prefer to stay in a relationship that fills your heart with pain or find a new relationship that fills your heart with love and joy? When you learn to value yourself, you will attract people who know your worth and deter people who want to chip away at your happiness.
It can be frightening initially to imagine changing, growing, moving on or making conscious choices that are going to take you away from all that you’ve ever known. But if your current choices are not serving you, and you no longer want to live in a state of suffering, do you think you can begin to accept that there’s another way to live that doesn’t create further suffering?
Get out of your comfort zone. Don’t make safe and easy choices because you’re afraid of what might happen. If you do, nothing will ever change. If you keep doing what you've always done, you’ll keep getting what you've always got ... nothing will ever change.
Life isn’t always easy. Some things will build you up and some will tear you down. Your heart will expand, break and rebuild — repeatedly. You are a work in progress; you're constantly learning, changing and growing. Life’s difficulties and obstacles will provide you with an opportunity to grow and learn and they will help you become clear on what you do and don’t want.
In the end, you're responsible for finding and creating your own happiness in this life. A beautiful life is out there waiting for you, but first you must feel it on the inside.
Life is too short to stay stuck in the past or with people who hurt you. If your past is a memory of pain, or someone continuously hurts you, have enough respect for yourself to let go and move on. Yes, it may hurt, but it’ll be OK — it shall pass! You’ll be OK.
