I have been passionate about maintaining a natural beauty routine for as long as I can remember. And when I say natural, I mean it. I'm not big on makeup, dressing up, or doing much in the way of styling my hair—when it comes to taking care of myself from the inside out, I've got that on lock.

Inside-Out, Outside-In

I think my passion for natural beauty began around the same time that wellness was starting to become a huge part of my life. I traded late nights out drinking for nights in with a good book (at least most of the time—balance!), and my morning yoga practice became a staple in my daily routine. My wellness routine is out-of-this-world important to me because I care so much about feeling good from the inside out.

It's not really about anything but that for me—the feeling-good aspect. I believe we all deserve to feel as good as we possibly can in our skin and our bods, so anything that helps me achieve that feeling is something I can stand behind.

Natural Beauty

On that note, let's talk about my natural beauty routine! I keep using the word "routine" because in my opinion, having a plan when it comes to taking care of ourselves is super important. It keeps us from falling off the wagon, and the consistency is what enables us to glow from the inside out.

Mornings are a time I really savor, especially because they are when the heart of my routine takes place. I start every morning with some kitty snuggles, meditation on my yoga mat, light stretching, a green smoothie, and Bulletproof Coffee. I like to make my smoothie and coffee before I stretch, so I can sip them while I'm on my mat. And you wonder why my friends and I coined the term "beveragey" because of how many beverages I am always sipping on, all at once?

I take my favorite HUM Nutrition Raw Beauty Powder with my morning smoothie—and you guys, I am addicted. The superfood powder supports radiant skin and a healthy metabolism by using only pure, non-GMO raw organic greens, fiber, enzymes, and probiotics. Oh, and the new Vanilla and Berry flavor tastes delish.

I am all about using clean, natural supplements in my diet to aid in my wellness and to bring on that natural glow. Before I introduced quality supplements into my life, I always felt that something was sort of off...and it turns out, it was! My hormones and my body feel overall so much more balanced now, and I love it.

I use a few other natural products as well and keep them all-natural, non-GMO, and non-comedogenic whenever possible. That's what my skin and body respond the best to. After my morning routine I usually work on the blog until it's time to exercise. Sometimes I go for a run or to a high-intensity interval-training class, but lately I have been all about the yoga. It feels best in my body, so that's what I am listening to. Regardless, I love to get a good sweat in because it helps my mind stay calm and helps my body wind down from my fast-paced days. These days, my afternoons consist of yoga as well whether it be teaching or assisting a class, and then usually a lot more writing for the blog before I wind down for the evening.

P.M. Ritual

A healthy dinner is always a must, and right now my go-to is a roasted-veggie omelet with lots of leafy greens. Yes, breakfast for dinner is my jam. My evenings are usually filled with a walk with good friends or some time soaking in a hot bath—can you tell I am all about the relaxing vibes these days?

Before bed, I have been taking HUM Nutrition's Beauty ZzZz supplement with melatonin, vitamin B6, and calcium. It's amazing because I am a notorious insomniac and such a "creative psycho," as I call it—my mind runs wild whenever I lie down to sleep, no matter how tired I am. This supplement has been working wonders and helping me fall asleep so much quicker. Plus, the B6 has helped regulate my sleeping pattern over time, so it's not just a quick fix.

I truly believe that having a natural beauty routine nourishes us from within so that we have more of a desire to take care of ourselves when it comes to fitness, eating clean foods, getting lots of rest, and more. Whenever I let my beauty routine slip, I feel it in other aspects of my life.
