When the day is dragging, or life has felt like a series of unfortunate events, a short, sweet aphorism can be just the thing to help us through it. So, when a copy of The Best Advice In Six Words showed up in our office, we were pretty stoked. The Larry Smith-edited tome boasts a wide variety of life advice, from big names like Elizabeth Gilbert to total (and surprisingly insightful) unknowns.
We laughed, we cried, we ruminated. And in our musings we realized that the only thing we like better than wit and wisdom is wit and wisdom in pretty pictures. So, with that in mind, we've illustrated six of our favorite six-word bon mots in hopes that they inspire you as much as they inspired us — and maybe take your #Gram game to the next level.

"Exhale a nightmare, inhale a possibility." -Marty Blackmer

"There is strength in being vulnerable." -Steven Berkowitz

"Don't waste what others desperately seek." -Sarita Alston

"Powerful avalanches begin with small shifts." -Pamela McFarland Walsh

"Everything's possible: We're made of miracles." -Van Jones

"Always wear pants when you cook." -Hugh Weber
