When it comes to finding your perfect puppy best friend, there are a lot of factors to consider. How much space will they need? Do they shed a lot? Are they easy to train? But one thing most potential pet parents forget is the power of the zodiac to predict compatibility. We check our horoscopes to find out how well we'll get along with love interests—why not do the same with our furry friends?

We thought it was about time, so we teamed up with ORGANIX® to bring you this guide to canine compatibility, according to your star sign. After all, ORGANIX® is America's #1 organic pet food and uses only high-quality, organic ingredients so that pet parents can ensure their aligned four-legged friends are receiving balanced meals prepared with love in small batches. So grab your future pup's favorite protein (choose from a base of organic, free-range chicken or turkey, real salmon or lamb), and get ready to meet your four-legged soul mate.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Aquarians are known for being independent, fun and playful, passionate, and curious.

The perfect dog for this sign? The Kerry Blue Terrier. An Irish breed known for their intellect, loyalty, independence, and curiosity, they’re gentle and lovable, making them great for families with kids. Bonus: These mid-sized pups don’t shed, so they’re safe for people with allergies.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Pisceans are compassionate, artistic, intuitive, and wise. They enjoy connection but need alone time, too.

The perfect dog for a Pisces is the Saluki, or Persian Greyhound. These beautiful, sleek creatures are as graceful in their personalities as in their physical bearing. Known for their speed and endurance, the Saluki is known as the royal breed of Egypt. Salukis are self-sufficient, pensive, and ideal companions for the thoughtful Pisces.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Aries babies are brave, optimistic, passionate people and natural leaders.

Aries people pair well with dogs like the Black Russian Terrier. These fluffy canines are coveted for their bravery, playfulness, energy, and independence. In fact, they're often trained for police work and participate in search and rescue missions. Also known as Russian Bear Schnauzers, these pups are partners to their pet parents in work and play.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Taurus is a reliable, responsible, devoted sign that sees things in a very practical light and prizes stability in both career and relationships.

The Tibetan Terrier is a small, obedient breed, known for being affectionate and loyal. These dogs were originally bred to accompany monks through the mountains of Tibet, making them prized companions and incomparable hiking buddies. Bonus: They're thought to bring good luck to their pet parents!

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Geminis are incredibly affectionate, curious, adaptable people who learn quickly and express themselves with ease.

The perfect pup for a classic Gemini is a Siberian Husky. These dogs are bred either for working (like pulling a sled) or for temperament. These clever dogs will keep you on your toes because they want to see and explore everything, just like their Gemini pet parents. Pet and pet parent will always have fun together because both prioritize playfulness no matter what else is going on.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

These imaginative, determined people are intuitive and sentimental. They deeply feel the pain of others and appreciate similarly perceptive companions.

An ideal four-legged friend for the Cancer is the American Pit Bull. These pups are actually known as nanny dogs because they are so affectionate and gentle—especially with children. They're known for their adventurous nature, tenacity, and courage, making them more or less doggy life partners for their lucky pet parents.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

The Leos in our lives tend to be warm, funny, easygoing problem-solvers. They can unravel any mess and find an elegant solution to problems that would overwhelm most people.

For the light-hearted Leo, there's no pet better than a pug. Like their Leo pet parents, they can adapt to all varieties of environments—apartments to wide open spaces—and they love to make others happy, especially if they can do that by expressing their inherent playfulness. Bonus: They don't need much exercise (tiny legs!) or grooming (short coats!), making them incredibly low-maintenance, like those born under the lion sign.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos are kind, hardworking folks who have an eye for detail and tend to be very careful and methodical in their approach to life and relationships. They are circumspect when it comes to the outside world, but to the people (and animals) in their inner circle, they are incredibly thoughtful and tender.

The Skye Terrier is a rare breed, just like the Virgo. These pups are amenable to agility and obedience training, but they are just as happy to snuggle up on the couch, making them easy to incorporate into a fastidiously designed Virgo life. They're happy to play when they're asked, but they don't need an inordinate amount of attention or exercise. They're perfect, quiet companions for the unique Virgo.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

The Libra is gracious, fair-minded, and cooperative. They appreciate intellectual discourse, easy intimacy, and time spent in nature.

A Libra's ideal dog companion is the Brittany Spaniel. These small-to-medium-size pups are nonconfrontational and eager to please, like the Libra, and they have a natural agility that makes them kindred with graceful Libra. They require plenty of exercise—preferably outside—making them keen participants in long walks or runs beloved by nature-loving Librans.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

The zodiac's scorpions are resourceful, feisty natural leaders. They feel things strongly but never strongly enough to divulge a secret someone's confided in them.

The canine match for a Scorpio is definitely the Bearded Collie. These dogs are known for their dreamy gaze, belying more depth than we can see, and they love to stay busy. They're playful, loving, and their natural talent for herding will mirror the Scorpio's own take-charge attitude.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

The generous, idealistic Sagittarius loves to travel and to dream. They can't be tied down by clingy people or worry about minor details. They're big-picture thinkers who need to engage their curiosity and hunger for adventure.

Medium-size German Shorthaired Pointers make wonderful mates for Sagittarians. They're considered "all-purpose dogs" because they're adaptable, learn quickly, and live for adventure. These incredibly intelligent dogs can keep up with the fast-paced lifestyle of a Sagittarius and will be equally stimulated by all the new activities and places their intrepid pet parents want to try.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Known for their self-control and responsible nature, Capricorns value tradition and leadership, though they're also intensely independent.

The confident Shiba Inu will suit a Capricorn's lifestyle and tastes to a T. These strong-willed pups can be wary of strangers but are deeply affectionate and loyal to those they know and love. Shiba Inus are bold and confident, making them emotionally resilient and never clingy. They show love for their pet parents while also allowing their pet parents to have personal space.

We all know that sometimes, you just meet a dog and fall in love. You can't plan that! But if you're on the hunt for a canine companion (or you're thinking about starting one), these insights should give you a head start in finding a dog you'll bond with for life. And no matter what dog you fall in love with, they’ll fall in love with America’s #1 organic pet food.
