At mindbodygreen, we believe that movement is an essential part of life. Movement, like food, can be its own form of medicine—it can connect us to the earth, to our community, and to ourselves. That's why we created Movement Cures, a video series that underscores our body's ability to heal itself through movement. From common aches and pains to the occasional (or chronic) bloating, we're asking experts for their best answers to our everyday woes and sharing Movement Cures that can help you feel better.

It's unanimous: Everyone hates menstrual cramps. They're uncomfortable, painful, and can sometimes be difficult to get rid of (naturally, that is). That's where movement comes in—or rather, swoops in—to save the day, again.

Adding a little movement to your cramp remedy kit can make all the difference—at least, it does for sub-elite marathon runner and Flywheel instructor Emily Fayette.

Introducing the "ball to star move"—an easy movement that has become Emily's go-to when she's dealing with any abdominal or menstrual cramps. Check out her latest demonstration below!

Like we said, menstrual cramps aren't fun, but we hope that this movement provides relief the next time you need it.
