Shrankhla Holecek is a lifelong vegetarian, yogi, and natural-medicine practitioner. She grew up in India with a strong foundation in the ancient science of ayurveda and comes from a family of generational veterans in the craft of essential oil production, leading to her unparalleled understanding of the therapeutic benefits of botanicals, especially as they apply to ayurveda.

Shrankhla moved to Los Angeles about 10 years ago for her MBA, after which she spent several years in management consulting. In her high-pressure job, Shrankhla saw increasing demands on her time, energy, and body, and like many others, she witnessed the toll those demands took on her appearance and well-being. Exhausted by topical creams and one-off medications, she went back to her basics, creating a line of natural skin-care and wellness products that bridged her past and her present: Uma.

Uma, a line of 100 percent natural and organic beauty and wellness oils, is Shrankhla's foray into introducing the most authentic, straight-from-the-source ayurveda and aromatherapy practices and solutions to the discerning consumer, in a luxurious, easy-to-use, and education-focused manner. All of Uma's organic oils are farmed, extracted, and formulated in small batches entirely at Shrankhla's family estate in India, guaranteeing unmatched purity and formulation expertise that preserves generations of artisanal craftsmanship.
