Gigi Hadid Is The New Face Of Reebok's #PerfectNever Campaign

International supermodel Gigi Hadid is now the face of #PerfectNever, a Reebok campaign working to empower and encourage women to exercise for their mental and physical health—not to reach any sort of false ideal of "perfection."
If anyone knows about the pressure to be perfect, it's Gigi. But that pressure is not, nor will it ever be, the reason she works out. In fact, she now celebrates imperfection.
“Working out isn’t only physical for me. It’s mental. It helps me escape the noise in my head. It’s the only time my mind goes quiet.” she explains in a press release. “When I was a competitive athlete, I used to be so focused on being perfect that my coaches would take me out of competing all together. I’d focus on my mistakes which would breed more missteps—a domino effect. Until I learned to change the channel, to re-focus, re-set. It was my mistakes, my imperfections that motivated me most.”
Gigi has certainly earned a reputation as someone who openly battles body shamers and accepts her body exactly as it is, so the fact that she hopped on board with this campaign makes a lot of sense.
"Gigi has walked in the spotlights of the world’s largest stages, and she’s graced the covers of the world’s most influential magazines. But like so many others, she’s also been the subject of unjust criticism and scrutiny—judged for every word she types and look she gives," Reebok tells mbg. "Reebok believes that idea of ‘perfection’ is inherently flawed. It represents impossible standards set and imposed on all of us, Gigi included. Our #PerfectNever campaign—an extension of Reebok’s 'Be More Human' mantra—is a powerful and inspirational call to action, asking women around the world to celebrate the beauty of 'imperfection.'"
We're all about Gigi's mindset. After all, when you let go of the idea of perfection, life is a lot more fun
