Nicole Rice is a highly trained and experienced doula and ayurvedic educator and cook. Her wellness journey began at age 16 when she walked into the local vitamin store in her hometown of Sydney, Australia, and fell in love with the powerful healing properties of echinacea. From then on, she found herself fascinated by plants, herbs, and natural medicine. During her 20 years as a public relations and marketing executive in the fashion industry, Nicole still managed to explore natural remedies and healing, always making concoctions for her family and friends. After four years in New York City, she moved to Los Angeles in 2004. In 2007, she decided to make her passion for health her purpose. She returned to Australia for six months to complete the Birth and Post Partum Doula Certification at the Australian Doula College. In 2013, she received her ayurvedic health educator certification from the California College of Ayurveda in Nevada City and completed a Pancha Karma with Dr. Rishi Korala in Kathmandu, Nepal, as well as studying the health and wellness of postpartum women under his guidance. Nicole's modern-day spin on age-old wisdom has nurtured expectant women, newborns, mothers, and families for over a decade. She believes that what we eat can heal, prevent illness, and protect our health. Countertop, and its unique spice blends and meal starters, is the result of years of knowledge gained through supporting and nourishing women during one of the most important transitions in life but is truly beneficial for everyone.
