Q&A
What is your wellness philosophy?
My wellness philosophy is there needs to be room for trial and error. I think it behooves us all to have an open and evolving relationship with our own "wellness," and with so many different practices and techniques available to us today, we have to allow for room to explore. I try to constantly keep myself in check from being too rigid with my beliefs and habits that naturally form through having a practice over a long period of time. That being said, there is a reason why some practices have stuck around for many, many years... so how do we continue to practice in a way that honors tradition, but stays relevant with who we are today?
What brought you into wellness?
I've been dancing my whole life so in my transition to adulthood, I had to figure out what that looked like, while still making ends meet. After finding and starting a steady yoga practice, my path as a teacher and now as a yoga studio owner has continued to unfold in a very organic way. My intention or thought was never to go into the "wellness" industry, as that was still coming into formation as I was starting to teach, but the fact that it is now a labeled phenomenon is pretty incredible and I'm happy to be a part of the movement.
What does You. We. All. mean to you?
As an individual, as a collective, as a larger whole—consider what we're doing here, and how we're doing it.
