Module 1
Introduction

Meet Dr. Terry Wahls, professor of medicine at the University of Iowa. 15 years ago, Dr. Wahls' was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. Fast forward to today, and she is vibrant, healthy and active. How did she overcome such a difficult and debilitating disease? In this session, meet Dr. Wahls and hear her inspirational story.

Module 2
Our Unhealthy Society

What happened to the collective health of our 'modern' society? We are now far more likely to suffer from a chronic illness than we were decades ago. What went wrong? In this session, Dr. Wahls explains.

How did we go from inhabiting strong, lean and fit bodies to inflamed, disease prone and sickly ones? In this session, Dr. Wahls tackles the question of nature versus nurture, and explains how the behaviors we adopt are far more influential in determining our health outcomes than our genetic material.

Module 3
Fueling The Cells That Fuel You

Our cells compose our bodies, so it follows that healthy cells lead to a healthy body, right? In this session, Dr. Wahls explains how to optimize our cells to ultimately optimize our health.

When you wake up each morning, do you feel energized or fatigued? The answer to that question likely depends on structures inside your cells called mitochondria. These are our cellular engines tasked with keeping us energized. In this session, Dr. Wahls guides you through eating to fuel the cellular engines that fuel your entire body.

We all want our brains to be as healthy and robust as possible, right? The problem is, we face an uphill battle here: once we pass the young age of 18, we lose more cellular connections in our brain than we make. Scary stuff. So what can we eat to even the playing field and optimize our brain health? In this session, Dr. Wahls explains.

Module 4
Our Chronically Inflamed Human Body

Inflammation is a naturally-occurring function in our human bodies. In fact, our natural inflammatory response is vital for good health. Chronic and excess inflammation, however, is a problem. In this session, Dr. Wahls explains.

Now that we understand why excess inflammation is harmful, the question arises: do I suffer from excess inflammation? Answering that requires knowing the common symptoms brought about by unnaturally high levels of inflammation. In this session, Dr. Wahls walks us through the most common ones.

So what is the best defense we can employ to either preempt or fight off excess inflammation? The food we eat. But which foods most effectively counter inflammation? Watch this session to find out.

Module 5
Living Toxin Free

As modern consumers, we are exposed to thousands of toxins each and every day as we go about our regular routines. But which toxins are we most commonly exposed to, and where do these exposures come from? And, most importantly, which should we really worry about? In this session, Dr. Wahls answers these questions and more.

The most obvious method for reducing the level of toxins in our bodies is simply to reduce our level of exposure to those toxins. That is, however, unrealistic for many today's modern consumers. So are there other equally effective methods? Fortunately, there are. In this session, Dr. Wahls tells you what to eat to banish toxins from your body.

Module 6
Fat, Fat, And More Fat

In our modern marketplace, fat has been vilified. But is that justified? The simple answer is no. Some fats are actually essential to good cellular and brain health. In this session, Dr. Wahls explains.

Where do you get your fat from? The answer is perhaps one of the single biggest predictors of your health. In this session, Dr. Wahls examines various sources of fat and tells you which to avoid.

Module 7
The Diet Craze Demystified

Today's modern consumer faces information overload when it comes to making an informed decision about diet. The Paleo community swears by their diet and the restorative impact it has on our health. And we hear equally vehement claims from the vegetarian and vegan communities. Is one of these the clear winner? In this session, Dr Wahls demystifies the diet craze.

The Paleo community has occupied the center of today's dialogue on nutrition and diet. It is widely celebrated as a means to promoting and achieving optimal health. But it isn't perfect. In this session, Dr. Wahls dives into the Paleo diet, touching on both its benefits and drawbacks.

Can you promote good health by adhering to either a vegetarian or vegan diet? In this session, Dr. Wahls explains how the two differ and also the benefits and limitations of each.

The heavy consumption of sugar that has come to characterize our modern diet has a number of different consequences on our health. Perhaps the most concerning of these is its impact on how we generate the energy needed to keep our bodies properly functioning. Instead of burning fat for energy like our ancestors did decades ago, we now rely almost exclusively on sugar. In this session, Dr. Wahls explains how we can reverse that harmful trend.

Module 8
Wrapping It All Up

In this session, Dr. Wahls recaps the most important takeaways from the course.

So what does Dr. Wahls average day look like? In this session, she guides you through her average day, breakfast through dinner (and everything in between)!
