Have you ever tried to manifest something, but gave up because you felt like it wasn’t going to work for you? That’s what happened to me until I realized that there’s more to manifestation than just placing your order to the cosmic catalog.

Manifestation is a practice, and it requires an input of energy. No, it's not about clenching your teeth and keeping a tight grip on your expectations. But sitting back and waiting for things to happen isn't quite how it works.

That's why I support my manifestation practice with a few essential tools. Here’s a list of my favorite manifestation tools that have taken me from the place of simply hoping that something would happen to one where I am consistently creating a life of abundance, satisfaction and love.

1. Sage

Burning sage (aka smudging) is an ancient ritual used for clearing stuck or blocked energy in the spaces we inhabit. Since manifestation involves making space in our lives for something new to enter, sometimes old energy needs to be cleansed. That's why I think sage serves a very important role in anyone's manifestation practice.

This is especially true if you find that you’re setting intentions and they’re not coming to fruition, or if things feel stuck, stagnated, and are taking too long to happen. You could have something blocking your manifestation, and sage may be exactly what you need to clear out the old, stuck energy and make space for the intentions you want to manifest.

2. Intention Board

Intention boards (also called vision boards) help you clarify your intention and clearly visualize what you want. The clearer your intention, the easier it is for you to experience your intention coming to fruition.

You can think of this just like ordering food at a restaurant: if you clearly state your order, the waiter knows exactly what to bring you.By contrast, if your order is confusing and you’re not sure how you want your food prepared, the likelihood that your order will come out messed up increases.

So grab a pile of magazines, a pair of scissors, a poster board and some glue — and get to it! Choose images that resonate with you and your intentions, and make a board to get really, really clear about what you want.

3. Fear Board

Fears are the most ignored part of the manifestation process and most likely, the biggest cause of your manifestations falling flat.

Although you want to manifest something, there may be a part of you that is afraid to receive your manifestation and therefore blocks the intention. For example, say you want to manifest writing a book. That sounds exciting, but is there a part of you that is afraid of what people will say when they read your book? What if they don’t like it and criticize you?

A fear board will help you discover the parts of you that don’t want to manifest your intention. Once you discover these fears, you can support them in practical, balanced ways so that they don’t creep up unexpectedly and sabotage your intentions.

4. Evidence Board

When you set an intention, is there a voice in the back of your head that says, “Yeah, right, that’s never going to happen”? Well, most of us do — so you're not alone.

To help soothe that voice and ease the doubts about your manifestation power, create what I like to call an "evidence board." This is a place where you can remind yourself of all the things you ever wanted to happen, that you made happen.

Use this as a reminder of your power when you doubt yourself.

5. Crystals

My two favorite manifestation crystals are Citrine and Rhodizite. Hold them as you set your intentions and keep them close to your intention board. They will give you an extra boost of abundance energy.

You can pick up these crystals online or at a local metaphysical/spiritual shop.

6. Moon Cycle Rituals

You are always being divinely supported to consciously manifest the life you desire, but there are times when that support is magnified. A lot of this has to do with celestial life — so get cozy with a moon cycle calendar.

New moons are the perfect time to plant the seeds of your manifestations. Create a ritual around the new moon where you set your intentions. You will have extra support from the energies of the Universe. And during the full moon, you’ll be supported in receiving the manifestations that you set during the new moon.

7. The "Parts Work" Practice

I have a practice that I like to call "Parts Work," which simply consists of trying to understand different parts of yourself and your desires. In other words, discover the parts of you that want to manifest certain things, and the other parts that want to manifest other things. Then investigate why, and support these different parts in the different ways they require. That way, you can manifest from a place of clarity and abundance, rather than confusion and lack.

This is the biggest tool you need for conscious manifestation, as it’s important to know the truth underlying your intentions. Are you setting intentions of having money so that you can prove yourself to others or receive more love, acceptance, or power?

If your intentions are coming from a place of lack (I need money to be more important, to receive more love, or to feel empowered), you’re telling the Universe: “Right now, I’m not enough.” The definition of the Law of Attraction is that like attracts like.

Therefore, if you're setting intentions from a place of lack, you will attract more lack. By contrast, abundance will attract more abundance.

8. Sacred Space

When setting intentions, it’s important to set those intentions in a physical space that honors and supports your manifestation power.

Find a space where you can create and hang your intention/fear/evidence boards. This will be your sacred space where you deliberately focus on the energy of love, support and abundance through meditations and visualizations.

9. Angel Card Deck

Angel cards are a great way to tap into your inner wisdom and receive support from the spirit realm.

You are a spiritual being having a human experience, and sometimes your human self can block messages from your spiritual self. Use angel card decks as a way of tapping into your intuition, inspiration and creative powers.

10. Community

This is one of the most important parts of manifestation. Having a supportive community gives you the opportunity to share your intentions with others so that they can honor and support your vision alongside you.

A community can help you hold the vision for your intentions and help you investigate your intentions that may be coming from a place of lack.

Use these 10 tools to consciously use the Law of Attraction and shift from unconsciously attracting lack and struggle to consciously co-creating and experiencing your inherent birthright of abundance, love and satisfaction.
