Have you run out of your favorite skin care product? Are you on a tight budget? Or have the products you use just stopped working for you? Don’t worry! Mother nature offers an abundance of ingredients that you can use to make the most amazing skin care products, and you probably have them in your kitchen right now. Here are 4 recipes.

Cleanser

Soak a face towel in warm water.

Combine 1 tablespoon good-quality natural yogurt with 2 teaspoons good-quality olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon oil (NOT lemon juice; lemon oil is an essential oil that can be found in health food stores).

Massage over your skin, avoiding the eye area, then wipe it off with the soaked warm cloth.

Exfoliator

Cook some plain oatmeal, using minimal water so it forms a thick paste.

Separately, combine 1 teaspoon honey with 1 teaspoon olive oil, and mix into the cooked oatmeal.

Once cooled, apply as a scrub, gently rubbing it in small circles over your skin, avoiding the eye area, and rinse off rinse off with warm water.

Face-Lifting Mask

After cleansing, combine 2 tablespoons good-quality natural yogurt and 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice (preferably from an organic lemon), and mix well.

Apply the mask to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.

Leave it on to dry for 20 to 30 minutes; you will feel it tightening on your face and neck, which creates the lifting and firming affect. If desired, you can leave it on for up to an hour to increase the effects.

Rinse off with warm water, then again with cold water, and gently pat your face dry before applying moisturizer.

Moisturizer

Keep it simple with argan oil.

Argan oil is a light, non-greasy and dry oil; a couple of small drops can be applied to your face after cleansing as a daily moisturizer.

It’s important to test any homemade beauty recipes on sensitive skin, like the on the inside of your wrist, to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction to any ingredients. So always remember to do a quick patch test before applying anything yourself.
