Gil Weiss, MD, is a member of the expert staff at The Association for Women’s Health Care serving women in The Loop in Chicago and Northbrook, Illinois. In addition to office-based procedures, Dr. Weiss is a specialist in endometrial ablation, laparoscopic surgery, ovarian masses and cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, laparoscopic hysterectomy, and vulvar disease. He’s also skilled in specific procedures, including Essure, a minimally-invasive surgical sterilization, and hysteroscopy, in which a thin, lighted tube is inserted into the vagina to examine the deeper organs.

He’s a graduate of the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada, and attended medical school at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Weiss completed a fellowship with AAGL, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, in minimally-invasive pelvic surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

He’s currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and holds affiliations with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Weiss has received numerous awards, including the 2005 Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons while at the University of Illinois. From 2007-2012, he received outstanding teaching awards from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, as well as a CREOG Teacher of the Year award in 2008.
