Sokhna Heathyre Mabin
Sokhna Heathyre Mabin is a solo mama of 2 vivacious cubs, holds a BS in Education and a BA in Psychology, is a birth and postpartum doula, herbalist, vocalist and has been teaching Hatha and Kundalini Yoga for over 20 years. She is the founder of MamaSutra Loving Arts, a woman centered wellness practice that merges fertility, creativity and sexuality as the foundation of wholeness. She teaches prenatal and perinatal yoga modules annually. She has performed nationally and internationally as choreographer and vocalist from PS 1 to The Sydney Opera House. Yoga and herbs have been her guardians of of her wellness, maintaining the harmony between the mental, physical, emotional and sexual health over the phases of her life. In 2014, Sokhna relocated from Brooklyn to Kalamazoo, MI, to care for her brother, a veteran of Desert Storm. She is now creating a project to train women of color as doulas to nourish and dissolve the inexcusable tragedy of Black Infant Mortality in Michigan and is currently creating her Perinatal Psychology practice and writing a book on becoming a mother.
