Matthew Rouse, PhD, MSW

Matthew Rouse, PhD, MSW, is a clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of ADHD and disruptive behavior disorders, as well as other disorders that may contribute to behavioral difficulties in children and adolescents. He received his PhD in clinical psychology from Emory University, his MSW from Barry University, and his BA from Williams College. He completed clinical fellowships at the Yale Child Study Center and VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle. He has held clinical and teaching appointments from Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology.

Matthew's philosophy includes an emphasis on providing children and their families with treatments that have been well-studied and demonstrated to work. He believes that parents, teachers, and other caregivers who spend the most time with children should be equipped with tools and skills in order to enhance the benefits of treatment. Matthew has expertise and training in a number of treatments, including parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), positive parenting program (Triple P), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parent management training, trauma focused-CBT, and cognitive processing therapy.
