When a career-ending injury left Howes, then an elite athlete and professional football player, out of work and living on his sister's couch, he decided he needed to make a change for the better. He began reaching out to people whom he admired, searching for mentors, and applying his past coach’s tips from sport to his life off the field. He did more than bounce back—he built a multimillion dollar online business, all before he was 30. But like many of us, he was still seeking more than just “success” as defined by money or wealth. Using his connections and letting his inquisitive mind be the guide, he started interviewing some of the smartest, most successful and “greatest” men and woman for his podcast (which has now been downloaded over 4 million times). He realized he and his listeners were learning lessons that were changing their lives.
In his book, The School Of Greatness, he distills the 8 key lessons for mastering greatness in our own lives. Lewis anchors each chapter on a lesson that he learned while working tirelessly to build a better life. Within that narrative, he weaves in stories from the outstanding people he’s met in his journey to greatness, then offers prescriptive guidelines for pursuing and attaining these building blocks to greatness.
