Laura Manning

Laura Manning, MPH, RD, CDN, is a Clinical Nutrition Coordinator in the Department of Gastroenterology at The Mount Sinai Hospital. She works with patients diagnosed with IBD, IBS, short bowel syndrome, celiac disease and many other motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, helping them learn how to eat depending on how their bodies function and metabolize foods.

While also experienced in advising patients on weight loss, Laura has since found a niche in helping malnourished patients with GI conditions to gain weight in the healthiest way possible. She is also passionate about helping people learn to “eat clean” and avoid the pitfalls of fast food and processed foods which can lead to obesity and chronic disease. Laura is a graduate of Hunter College in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and her Master of Public Health degree. She has worked at Mount Sinai for the past 14 years, of which the last 10 have been in the gastroenterology department. Laura resides in Manhattan with her husband and two children, and enjoys calling herself a “foodie.” She loves to cook and frequent restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines, to better understand the diverse foods and cultures of people who call Manhattan their home.
