Ali Shapiro is an author, speaker, health coach and regular NBC Philadelphia health contributor. She combines the spiritual and scientific, and the physical with the emotional, to show individuals and groups how to call a Truce with Food ™. In that peace, they become their own best experts on what nourishment works for their mind, bodies and spirits. Professionally, she combines her education from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition/Columbia University, The Institute for the Psychology of Eating and her Masters in Coaching at the University of Pennsylvania. Personally, she draws upon her experience as a 20-year cancer survivor and 18-year weight worrier who has successfully lost 30 pounds and the battle with food.
