In the prime of his NBA career, John Salley found out his cholesterol was 274. Looking around at men who were still playing despite being much older than his 27, John realized he needed to make a change if we wanted to stay healthy and active well into his life.
He began a quest to only put things into his body — physically and mentally — that would enhance it, taking up yoga, acupuncture, meditation and a vegan diet. A quarter century later, Salley has continued this lifestyle and is now a PETA spokesperson. At this year's revitalize, John shared some of his secrets to living forever and why being honest with yourself about lifestyle is so important.
