Say what? There's a lot of talk going around this month, as the Sun makes its annual visit to Gemini, the sign of communication, until June 21. Gemini season is a rich time for clever ideas, inspiring dialogue, and connecting with kindred spirits. This IS the season of #twinning after all. Link up with people whose skills (and souls) complement yours.
But since Gemini is also ruled by Mercury the trickster, do your research, as "alternative facts" can run rampant. Confirm the truth before you spout off hearsay or put anything in writing. While you're at it, don't believe everything you hear. People are prone to embellishing stories (and even making up words…#covfefe much?).
The outspoken vibes really accelerate on June 9, when live-out-loud Jupiter ends a four-month retrograde in Libra.
Libra, like Gemini, is a partnership-oriented sign. Dynamic duos and stalled collaborations pick up speed. Jupiter is in Libra from September 9, 201,6 until October 9, 2017, a cycle that only occurs every 12 years. The next four months are all about bringing balance to your life. You can do this by teaming up with people whose strengths complement yours. You might get special training to bolster your skills in an area where you're weak or behind the curve. And despite the state of the world, global Jupiter's forward move in peacemaker Libra IS an important time for nations to figure out how to work together. (At this rate, we need all the help from Jupiter we can get!)
A Sagittarius full moon also arrives on June 9, doubling the Jupiter effect, since the red-spotted planet happens to rule this sign. It will be impossible to stem the tide of truth serum—and hastily dashed-off communications—that may erupt at this lunation. The line between fact and opinion can be easily blurred today. But a week later, when the Sun makes its annual opposition with stern Saturn, we could get a sobering fine from the cosmos if we speak or act in haste. Is "honesty" really the best policy now? That's debatable.
Luckily, harmonizer Venus returns to Taurus (its earthy home sign) from June 6 on. With any luck, this will lend us much-needed grounding energy. Get out and enjoy nature, reveling in its beauty and bounty. (And please, let us not take our OWN planet for granted!)
Aggressive Mars hits the time-out chair when it moves into sensitive Cancer from June 4 to July 20, a cycle that only happens every two years.
This transit turns our attention to our personal lives, as Cancer rules home and family. Unfortunately, Mars is in "detriment" in feminine Cancer, a weakened position for the virile red planet. Watch out for passive-aggressive barbs and thin-skinned reactivity, as veiled hostilities and resentment can simmer. Addressing micro-aggressions, both socially and institutionally, is important now. Warning: Family feuds can erupt with combative Mars in Cancer. Use this cycle to address conflicts openly with your clan instead of seething silently.
The need for healing gets more pronounced in the second half of June, when foggy Neptune makes its annual retrograde from June 16 until November 22. Secrets can be revealed now, and hidden agendas unearthed. The ongoing investigation into cyber-hacking and data leaks won't slow down anytime soon. On a personal level, this cycle helps us disengage from draining relationships. With Neptune in reverse, we need to distinguish the line between compassion and codependence. How can we have empathy without making excuses or enabling people's bad behavior?
On June 21, the Sun joins Mars in Cancer for a month, followed by a Cancer new moon on June 23.
During this sentimental season, "put a little love in your heart." Watch for the clannish tendencies of patriotic Cancer season. While it's important to be proud of our roots, this cycle can have a shadow expression of xenophobia and exclusion. Define your sacred space and protect it. But why not make it a welcoming place for newcomers too?
The month ends with fireworks when hotheaded Mars and know-it-all Jupiter lock into a heated square on June 25. This could be a tense (and intense) day for world politics as well as in our personal lives. Hopefully the healing Mars-Neptune trine that follows on June 26 will remind us that nothing was ever solved by turning on each other. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Love is the only force capable of turning an enemy into a friend." Keep that in mind during the last week of June, and do your best not to take the bait.
