The One Thing Miranda Kerr Swears By For Clear Skin
As one of the most prolific Victoria’s Secret angels there ever was and a successful career as an international supermodel, it's no surprise that Miranda Kerr has learned a thing or two about skin care on the job. But did you know that she studied psychology and nutrition before becoming a model, pursuing a career as a certified health coach vis-à-vis New York’s Institute for Integrative Nutrition?
Marrying her love of wellness and beauty led her to create KORA Organics, a results-driven skin-care range whose products were also toxin-free and certified organic way back in 2010 when the market for naturals had very few options. "Initially [I started KORA] because I found a niche in the market; I was looking for skin-care products for my personal use that were certified organic and natural and that delivered results, but I was unable to find anything that was nontoxic and really worked," Kerr said.

The active ingredient that sets Kerr's products apart from the now burgeoning organic beauty scene is noni extract, a fruit first introduced to her by her grandmother. When it comes to skin care, her favorite product is the Noni Glow Face Oil. As someone who travels quite a bit for work, she’s not afraid to pack her own lunches, dinners, and snacks. But when she can't, she has a strategy informed by her time studying nutrition. "Sometimes traveling to foreign countries [finding healthy food] was difficult, but I’d just ask for grilled fish or chicken and vegetables." Even as a model, she was conscious of her diet. "I think because I had studied nutrition and health before modeling full-time, I was very conscious of making healthy decisions and not falling prey to bad choices…for me it was about counting nutrients, not calories," said Kerr. But don't be fooled, it's not all juice and salad. She abides by the 80/20 rule, indulging part of the time, eating everything in moderation, and taking a label-less approach to food. "I love dark chocolate, organic red wine, triple-cream goat cheese, and the occasional burger and french fries," she confirmed. You heard it here: Supermodels eat burgers, too!

We always love marveling at the planning systems that help people get shit done—from calendaring systems to bullet journals. For Miranda, it’s learning how to say no. "At the end of each week I will sit with my assistant and review the plans and activity for the upcoming week so we can make changes if need be. I used to find it hard to say no, but I realize now that it does no one any favors if I am overcommitting myself…this way I can be 100 percent present in what I am doing and not thinking I have to be here or there; it also means I’m able to give my family the best, my company the best, and my clients the best."
