In our new Suitcase Lookbook series, we’ll ask wellness leaders to open their travel bags and reveal the essentials that keep them grounded, energized, and glowy on all their adventures. Today, we’re chatting with holistic psychiatrist and sleep and anxiety expert Dr. Ellen Vora to get her healthy must-packs.

Though Dr. Ellen Vora's travel itinerary has slowed down a bit since the birth of her baby girl, the holistic psychiatrist, acupuncturist, yoga teacher, and mbg class instructor still finds time for adventure. Her recent excursions include a food tour through Sicily, a day traversing a mountainside cemetery in rural Japan, a honeymoon, a baby moon, and a first family vacation. So what does the doctor order for healthy, restorative travel? Here's a peek inside her packing list.

1. Snacks with a shelf life.

Dr. Vora mixes up the travel classics like nuts, chocolate, and nut butters with more unexpected additions like canned seafood. Sardines and salmon make for a nutritious meal on the go, and they're shelf stable!

2. An in-flight snack.

If hunger strikes on the flight, Dr. Vora always has an avocado on hand. Combine it with one of those little plastic cutlery packs you get when you order takeout, and you have the perfect portable snack—a knife to cut with, a spoon for scooping out the goods, and salt and pepper packs for some seasoning.

3. Face and body oils.

She's a huge fan of Living Libations products, especially the face and sun oil, which protects skin and promotes healthy vitamin D absorption in the sunshine. With packaging that reads "The fairest flower blossoms in you. Groom each petal," this magical formula is definitely worth a shot.

4. Practical clothing.

Dr. Vora never flies without an eye mask for sleeping and compression socks to promote blood circulation in the legs. She's also partial to wearing scarves on the plane, as they can provide a surprising amount of warmth for something so portable and lightweight. She packs all her goodies up into compression bags—a self-proclaimed "mommy hack."

5. Plant waterer.

Though she doesn't pack this nifty little glass bowl in her suitcase, it's an essential part of her travel routine. Any guesses as to what it is? A waterer! Dr. Vora's apartment is an oasis of nearly 100 plant friends, so she always sets up self-watering devices before heading off.

6. An on-the-go squatty potty.

Yes, the wellness world's beloved toilet accessory comes in a portable version. Your hotel bathroom experience will never be the same.

7. Speakers.

Dr. Vora loves listening to music of all kinds (except maybe EDM), especially in her hotel room after a long day of exploring.
