Here at mbg, we believe that beauty is uniquely yours. In our video series Bare Your Beauty, we break down various techniques, rituals, and how-to’s designed to help you feel good in your own skin, whether your goal is to de-stress, update your skin care regimen, or try a new look.

Have you ever tried oil cleansing? Holistic esthetician, mbg Collective member, and health coach Britta Plug—who has been taking care of her clients' skin using a natural and holistic approach for more than 13 years—has a few good reasons you should give it a shot. Even if you've done it before or do it regularly, chances are you can up-level your oil-cleansing game. According to Plug, oil cleansing long term can:

  • help reduce chronic blackheads
  • keep the skin's microbiome vibrant and healthy
  • easily dissolve makeup, dirt, and sunblock

Below, Plug shows us the step-by-step, insider technique that has changed the game for so many of her clients (pro tip: it involves a prop you probably have at home), why you should avoid coconut oil, and her preferred oil-cleansing product in this video. Happy cleansing!
