Recipe: Homemade Strawberry Oat Milk

As a child getting strawberry milk was such treat! Here is a much healthier version without all the artificial sweeteners and coloring. It’s very simple to make; only takes about 10 minutes after soaking the oats.

  • 3 cups of steel cut oats
  • Filtered water (enough to cover oats)
  • 1 tsp. ceylon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ Salt
  • 8-10 large strawberries

Soak 3 cups of steel cut oats in filtered water for 3 hours or longer.

Strain the oats using cheese cloth. Squeeze out as much of the water and foam as possible. Then discard the water and place the oats a high-power blender (i.e. Vitamix).

Pour in 4 cups of water and blend on high for about 1 minute. Using a mesh strainer double strain the oat milk then place back into the blender. You may need to play with the amount of water depending on how thick or thin you like your milk.

  • 1 tsp. ceylon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ Salt
  • 8-10 large strawberries

Blend again for about 1 minute. If you’re going to enjoy it right away add some ice cubes then blend again before serving. Otherwise it last about 4 days in the fridge. It’s great on cereal or just as a creamy treat!

Enjoy :)
