Move over pork, there's a new hot item among omnivorous foodies. Daniel Humm, the chef of Eleven Madison Park, was recently anointed best NYC Chef at the James Beard Awards and says vegetables are the latest "it" item.
Humm on veggies: "Honestly, I think vegetables are the next big thing. We're incorporating more vegetables into the food... We're really letting them shine."
Humm goes on to tell the Wall Street Journal that he's focusing on taking seasonal vegetables and trying to present them to diners in different ways -- so people can try them with different "textures and flavors."
Daniel isn't the only all-star chef who's excited about the future of veggies. Chef Jose Andres recently told 60 Minutes that he believed that "the future is vegetables and fruits. They are so much more sexier than a piece of chicken..."
