Meet Your New Favorite Sugar Alternative: Date Paste!

Let me introduce you to your new best friend: date paste. He’s sweet, wholesome, and was brought into this world with all the goodies you could want from a sweetner: fiber, potassium, calcium, vitamin A, K, B... In our society where sugar is overused and over-processed, date paste is the perfect replacement for sugar. 

The list of harmful effects of refined sugar is long. Keep in mind that white refined sugar is void of any nutritional value what-so-ever. To compound the issue, it robs you of valuable nutrients just so the body can process it. Many will say, moderation is key, but really, why make friends with thieves?

Date Paste


  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates
  • ½ cup - 1 cup water or coconut water


Soak dates in water for 30 minutes, or until soft. This step will make the blending process easier.

Blend dates and the same water you soaked them in, in a high powered blender or food processor until smooth.

Store in airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks, or make a big batch and keep in the freezer.
