The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit watchdog and research group, has come up with their "dirty dozen" list of fruits and veggies that contain the highest amounts of pesticides.
Whereas there are some fruit and vegetables you don't necessarily need to buy organic, you'll probably want to buy organic when it comes to these foods:
- Peaches
- Apples
- Sweet bell peppers
- Celery
- Nectarines
- Strawberries
- Cherries
- Lettuce
- Grapes
- Pears
- Spinach
- Potatoes
