How about a little muscle with your meditation? The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Arizona has teamed up with the former NFL tight end Damian Vaughn to offer guided meditation sessions as reported in the NY Times:
Mr. Vaughn, a player for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who has studied with Deepak Chopra, recently began counseling retiring athletes including former Olympic achievers as well as former football stars on career transitions using mental techniques such as meditation.
The sessions, which began in January, take place at the resort’s Agave Spa, which features a fitness center, yoga studio and full-service massage rooms.
A two-hour Meditation CalmQuest, which promotes stress relief, is $140. The more extensive six-hour Primordial Sound Meditation ($379) is said to promote deeper awareness. Unlike with some other sponsorships, Mr. Vaughn himself leads the sessions.
