How I Lost 30 lbs in 2011 & Plan to Lose Another 25 lbs in 2012!
In 2011 I lost 30lbs and I plan to lose another 25 in 2012. Here's how I did it, and how I plan to continue my weight loss success in the next year.
-If drinking alcohol - moderation! Little or none is key.
-If eating sugar - moderation! Little or none is key.
-If eating dairy - moderation! Little or none is key.
-Eat no more than 2,000 calories a day of a primarily plant-based diet. (Note: I am male so if female maybe only 1,200 calories?)
-Eat a balanced diet of protein, carbs, veggies, fruit and dairy.
-Practice yoga a minimum of 3-5 times a week (disclaimer:I am a yoga teacher!)
-Walked down 14 floors 1-3 x daily (I live in a high rise)
-Walked to destinations as much as I could! (I live in NYC)
-Slept a minimum of 5-9 hours daily
-Did not eat anything for 10-12 hours every 24 hours (10pm-8am!) This rests your digestive system!
-Drank a large glass of water upon awakening daily. (We are primarily made of water! Also try drinking water when hungry).
-Ate a Luna bar/nuts circa 3-5pm for low blood sugar levels
-Before I put anything in my mouth simply asked myself , "Does this serve me and my goal of a healthy weight?"
-Also make a bet with someone that if you do not reach your goal weight that you will pay "X" amount of cash to someone whom you do not think deserves it. This can be a big subconscious motivator!
