3 Meal-Worthy Smoothies To Kick Your Day Off Right

Soylent is a popular meal replacement drink that's all the rage in Silicon Valley. At first glance, there's a lot to like about Soylent for plant-based peeps. It's vegan. It's lactose-free. It costs under $3 a bottle. And it delivers 400 calories to your body—a fifth of a day's worth—in a matter of seconds.

However, like most consumer products marketed as healthy, there's more than meets the eye with Soylent when you peel back the curtain. Soylent is not organic. It has GMOs. It's not gluten-free, soy-free, or allergen-free.

If you're like me and prefer real food, I've prepared a few healthy meal replacement smoothie recipes for you. I recommend starting with a good vegan protein powder with clean, minimally processed ingredients. From there, it's as simple as throwing a handful of superfoods into a blender and letting the bounty of real food nourish your body, mind, and soul.

Here are three recipes to get you started, and they're all dairy-free, healthy, kid-friendly, soy-free, low sugar, vegan, and wheat-free—and they all contain enough energy to keep you full till lunch.

Fruits and vegetables nourish and heal. Processed chemicals do the opposite. If you're looking to replace a meal with a liquid beverage, do your body a favor and blend together some organic, plant-based foods instead of reaching for a cheap, highly processed meal replacement powder.

I used my product, Pure Food Probiotic Protein, for the protein powder in the recipes above.
