We were lucky enough to have the lovely Julie Montagu of Flexi Foodie and Ladies of London fame drop by the mindbodygreen offices recently.

Julie talked about cooking for her family (including four hungry kids) on a busy schedule, how she got started as a foodie and yogi, and even whipped up two delicious recipes from her new cookbook, Superfoods Superfast, for us on Facebook Live.

Julie also shared the places she loves to eat in her home city — London — whether for a leisurely meal with friends or a quick and healthy bite. Check them out if you're in London, or just scroll through their Instagram pages for some stellar meal inspiration.

Farmacy

The restaurant by former fashion industry exec Camilla Fayed just opened this "veggan" (meaning mostly vegan, but including eggs) restaurant in Notting Hill. The menu includes vegan nachos, chia pudding, veggie burgers, and nourishing bowls — all packed with superfoods and plant-based favorites like hummus and avocado.

Redemption

"Notting Hill is really great right now for new, healthy restaurants," says Julie, and this alcohol-free gastropub is on the cutting edge. You read that right: a bar sans the hearty English beer and gin and tonics.

Instead, they serve up a fresh, seasonal menu that changes daily, intricate mocktails, and desserts that include raw vegan cheesecake and energy balls — so you can have a night out without the alcohol or sugar-related hangover.

Hemsley + Hemsley Café at Selfridges

One of mbg's favorite sibling duos, Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley, are serving up green juice, colorful bowls, and breakfast sandwiches with their genius probiotic ketchup and flaxseed buns at their all-day café in the famous department store.

The Good Life Eatery

Think cold-pressed juices, colorful açai bowls, a whole section of the menu devoted to "superfood salads," and lots of gluten-free bread and treat options. We know you guys will love this one.

The Detox Kitchen

"I love Lily Simpson [the owner] — she's really got the right idea. She's healthy but isn't obsessive about it," says Julie. The Detox Kitchen is both a clean food delivery service and a handful of delis in London where you can grab a whole-foods-packed breakfast or lunch.

Check out Lily's warming porridge recipe here.
