Supermodel Elle Macpherson On Meditation, The Importance Of Laughter, And #Wellth

I’ve spent the past year thinking a lot about “wellth” — the idea that success is found in a lifestyle devoted to mental, physical, and emotional health. (I even wrote a book about it.) In this new series, we’re celebrating visionaries who embody what it means to be wellthy. 

At 51, Elle Macpherson still looks a lot like she did when she started modeling in 1982 (that's 34 years ago!). But Macpherson is also a beacon of health and balance, both crucial for her recent turn as the brains behind a superfood elixir. We met her six months ago and have become fast friends because she's super smart, kind, supportive and very passionate about wellness. As soon as we met her, we could easily see why she's so #wellthy!

mbg: Favorite healthy place to eat?

United Kingdom: Daylesford

What's your favorite way/place to escape to get some nature?

Australia for surfing, Miami for the beach and paddle boarding, and Aspen for snow and skiing. I also love to hike in the mountains.

What's your favorite way to break a sweat?

Spin class. SoulCycle or Flywheel.

Favorite holistic treatment?

Acupuncture, kinesiology, and chiropractic treatments.

How do you de-stress/practice self-care?

I meditate for about 20 minutes when I first wake up and then take a moment again around 2 p.m. if possible. I also work with a life coach/guide regularly, sleep seven hours, and take The Super Elixir without fail to keep my body alkaline and well-nourished with clean, plant-based nutrients. What does wellth mean to you?

Balance: not easy to achieve but vital for growth and a life built on non-judgment, love, happiness, peace, and fulfillment. I am realizing that my most valuable assets are the intangible ones.

Any advice for someone who's looking to build a life that they love and follow their passion?

Find what you love and do it relentlessly. Give lots of things a go and let go of results. Laugh a lot. Find the light side of life.
