I’ve spent the past year thinking a lot about “wellth” — the idea that success is found in a lifestyle devoted to mental, physical, and emotional health. (I even wrote a book about it.) In this new series, we’re celebrating visionaries who embody what it means to be wellthy.
Most of us know Leslie Feist as Feist, the Grammy-nominated musical genius behind the iconic "1234" song we can't help but love. As you might guess from her sweet lyrics, she's also one of the kindest and smartest musicians out there. We here at mbg have known her since 2014, when she attended our first ever revitalize event—and we've been some of her biggest fans ever since.
mbg: Favorite way to sweat?
LF: Run .... and run and run.
Favorite healthy place to eat?
At home. Or my aunt's farm in New Brunswick.
What's your favorite way to get some nature?
Long walks, I guess more accurately called "treks." Most recently on the Nyika Plateau in Malawi.
What does feeling comfortable in your own skin mean to you?
Working from a resilient core.
What does wellth mean to you?
An even keel. And being motivated by that resilient core I mentioned rather than immediate cravings.
Any advice for someone who's looking to follow their passion?
Accept the errors in the trials. As a friend of mine's tattoo says, "Fail better."
