A new study from the University of Texas shows that grilled meat is linked to kidney cancer.
The study compared the eating habits of individuals with kidney cancer and without. The results showed those with kidney cancer ate more grilled meats (both red and white meat) overall. The study also showed that those individuals ate less fruits and vegetables.
There needs to be more research on exactly what the risk is, but for now, limiting both red and processed meats is still the recommendation for the general population.
And, as always, eating more plants might be the way to go.
