It doesn't get much more badass than this.
By now, we all know how disturbing the wage gap is between male and female professional athletes. The U.S. women's soccer team that took home the World Cup took home $2 million as a team, while the German male team who won the World Cup pocketed $35 million in total. Why such a big difference? Well, I'll tell you this much: It's not because of skill level.
Brenda Perez is a professional Spanish soccer player — and with her serious skills, she can prove that women can play soccer at the same level as men.
Don't believe me? Just watch (below).
Perez was disguised as a man on the Spanish TV show “El Hormiguero." Fitted with a wig, facial prosthesis, facial hair, and padding for her body, she was transformed into "Dani Perez" and charged with the task of playing against some male soccer pros during a non-league match in Madrid.
She easily slips past her male opponents with some fancy footwork. And then, right before she takes a penalty kick — in the ultimate She's the Man moment — she removes her disguise.
You've got to see her fellow players’ reactions:
Moral of the story? Soccer is not just a man's game.
