Break out your favorite stretchy, patterned leggings and cutest racerback tank — The New York Times just reported that the term "athleisure" will be included in the next update of the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
What does this mean for those of us who rock this look to work two or three times a week? Nothing really. But you no longer have to use those annoying air quotes when you tell your friends about your latest athleisure purchase. It's a real word now. According to a Merriam-Webster dictionary editor, the term "meets all criteria for entry," which basically means it's been used frequently over a long period of time.
Not that you needed us to tell you, but keep rocking your athleisure gear at work, at the gym, at brunch — clearly the trend is here to stay. Plus this news, just gave us another excuse to watch our favorite video spoof on athleisure, enjoy!
