Giada DeLaurentiis Talks Diet & Fitness, Food, and Yoga in Shape Magazine
You've probably seen Giada DeLaurentiis glowing on the Food Network as she makes cooking Italian seem effortless all while looking stunning. At almost 40-years-old, Giada looks more fit and beautiful than ever, even AFTER giving birth. Giada spoke with Shape Magazine on how she does it. Here are some highlights:
On Fitness & Yoga:
Giada was a gym rat until she got pregnant, then she looked for something that was slower-paced. That's when she began to practice yoga.
"I thought, 'Oh, this will be a good way to stretch,' but it turned out to be so much more!" she says. "It taught me to breathe, it strengthened my muscles, and it helped me relax."
Now, post-birth, she practices yoga five times a week. (A private instructor comes to her home at 4:45am).
On Diet & Sweets:
Giada used to have 6-8 tablespoons of sugar in her coffee! She then eliminated white sugar for six months and "got over the hump by eating a lot of fruit and replacing sugar with healthier alternatives, like brown rice syrup and agave nectar."
