Though we're not fans of soda, we are fans of small steps toward transformative change. Pepsi's new bottle, which is made entirely from plant-based materials, demonstrates another small step. The bottle is made from "switch grass, pine bark, corn husks and other materials. Ultimately, Pepsi plans to also use orange peels, oat hulls, potato scraps and other leftovers from its food business," according to NPR.
It's definitely a step up from Coca-Cola's new "PlantBottle", made from 30 percent plant-based materials.
Now if we could only get them to use better ingredients and lose the high-fructose corn syrup!
