Tone & Tighten Your Skin With This DIY Raspberry Facial Mask
Whether we like it or not, the effects of aging and sun damage show up on our face. And, while I’m a proud proponent of rocking your grays and makeup-free days, I also believe in nourishing and protecting your skin to reduce the damage that aging and the environment naturally has on your skin.
Though there are plenty of high-end products and medical treatments willing to help you with this, I've found it way more enjoyable and gratifying to create organic, high-quality skincare treatments in the comfort of my home.
This raspberry mask recipe takes just 10 minutes to prepare and contains just three simple but powerful ingredients to help tighten your skin, improve blotchiness and discoloration, and gently exfoliate dead skin. It leaves your skin looking naturally radiant (and smelling delicious).
Radiant Raspberry Facial Mask
- 1/4 cup fresh or thawed out frozen raspberries
- 2 teaspoons ground white clay (you can find this at your natural health store or online)
- 2 teaspoons ground oatmeal (I grind whole oats in a coffee grinder)
Place the raspberries in a bowl and carefully mash them with a fork until smooth (including the seeds and juice). Stir in the clay and ground oatmeal until a paste forms. Let the mixture sit for a minute or two to thicken. If it’s too thick to spread, add some water and mix around.
Light a candle and put on some soothing music to set the mood. Using your fingers, spread the paste all around your face. Once the mask is on your face, lie down face up and allow the mask to harden, taking deep breaths and savoring the stillness. Once hardened, rinse the mask off with warm water. Follow up with your moisturizer.
