Why Beyonce Wants Everyone To Go Vegan For 22 Days
Well, because she did it.
In the winter of 2013, Beyoncé decided to test out the vegan waters for 22 days. Though it may have been brief, it apparently affected her tremendously. Other than making an effort to include more plant-based foods in her diet, Beyoncé has decided to team up with exercise physiologist (and her personal trainer) Marco Borges to launch the "22 Days Nutrition plant-based home delivery meal service."
And 22 wasn't just randomly chosen; it comes from the idea that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. By the 22nd day, you're over the hump, and it's easier to maintain a habit — like eating more healthfully.
Borges developed a menu of delicious meals that are naturally low in fat, sugar, and salt, and filled with whole foods such as vegetables, beans, grains, herbs, and spices. They're made with 100% plant-based, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free ingredients.
The idea, he said, is not to convince everyone to go vegan but rather to make healthier food choices "so they can live a more energetic and productive life." And since the food gets delivered right to your doorstep once a week, you're literally handed all the tools you need. You just have to know how to use them.
For $9.76 to $16.50 a meal, you can eat like the Queen for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
"All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can," she said in a press release.
