Go ahead and add "activewear designer" to Beyonce's ever-growing resume.
It was announced earlier this week that the musical powerhouse will team up with London-based store Topshop to design a line of activewear, set to hit stores as early as Fall 2015. Beyonce and the brand have formed a 50-50 joint venture company, Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd., to produce the as yet unnamed "athletic streetwear" line.
Topshop owner Sir Philip Green said he and Beyonce first met in February. "We started talking generally, about doing something together. We've been looking at that [athletic] sector for a while," he said. "Based on what she does, how she works out, the conversation got into that category."
According to an article published by WWD, Beyonce will "work with the product development team Topshop puts in place to 'create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection' and 'participate in all aspects of the partnership.'" She'll be helped by designers who understand both fashion and the technical aspects of workout clothing, "such as stretch and wicking."
As a dancer, singer, actress, mom, entrepreneur and general crazy-busy woman, Beyonce's collection will include something for everyone: clothing, footwear and accessories appropriate for dance, fitness and sports.
Whether you're in downward dog, on a spin bike or just want to channel a little Beyonce into your everyday, it sounds like there will be something for everyone.
