On Sunday, September 21 in New York City, a large group of people will gather at the southwestern corner of Central Park to demand action to slow the intensifying effects of global climate change. In fact, it will be the largest such gathering in history.
The People's Climate March is an action organized by the environmental group 350, and it's designed to coincide with the United Nations' meeting on how to reduce carbon emissions, slated to begin September 23. The march has become such a big deal that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced he will join the protestors in demanding action on climate change.
