This summer I finally tasted farm-fresh cherries for the very first time. I was smitten with their sweetness! Ever since then, I've been on a kick to soak in every moment of the cherry season that summer has to offer.
This recipe is my new favorite — the sweetness of the cherries compliments so well the richness of cacao. The coconut adds an exotic twist and a creamy texture. Plus, the taste of the added greens is barely noticeable, making this the perfect healthy smoothie for kids, too!
Cacao Cherry Smoothie
- 1/2 cup cherries
- 1/2 cup coconut water or almond milk
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 handful of parsley (optional)
- 1 tsp. raw cacao
- 1 tsp. honey or 2 drops liquid stevia
- 1 Tbsp. unsweetened shredded coconut
Blend all ingredients together in a blender until creamy and smooth.
