The 10 Unhappiest Cities In The U.S. (Sorry, New York!)

Congratulations, Richmond! The Virginia state capital is the happiest large metropolitan area in the United States, according to a paper released by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research.

Researchers used a large survey that asked people across the country how satisfied they were with life. They broke down the responses based on region, and by the looks of things, residents of Virginia and Louisiana are doing quite well! New Yorkers, on the other hand, reported the highest levels of unhappiness, which is probably not so surprising to people who live there and have had to wait for the F train.
