Perfect Make-Ahead Breakfast: Cinnamon Oats

Overnight oats are typically made by placing raw oats along with some other flavors and wet ingredients in a Mason jar or some sort of airtight container and placing it in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning for breakfast, the oats will have soaked up all of the moisture and wonderful flavors and be thick and delicious.

I’ve tried a variety of different recipes but this is the one that I have found to be the most scrumptious!

Perfect Make-Ahead Breakfast

Serves 1


  • 1 Mason jar (I like to use a Mason jar to place the oats in but really any airtight container will work)
  • ¼ cup steel cut oats
  • ¼ cup nonfat milk
  • ¼ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup chopped fruit (I like to use bananas or strawberries but you can use whatever you like)


Place all of the ingredients into your container and mix with a spoon until combined. Place lid on container and put in the refrigerator overnight. Mix well in the morning and enjoy!
